DNS (Domain Name Servers )

DNS server is any computer registered to join the Domain Name System. A  Dns runs special-purpose networking software, features a public IP address, and contains a database of network names and addresses for other Internet hosts.

The Internet's system for converting alphabetic names into numeric IP addresses.

when a Web address (URL) is typed into a browser, DNS servers return the IP address of the Web server associated with that name.
